Tom Eaton  is a writer, living in Cape Town, where he is the husband of Tanya and a figure of mild disappointment to their dog, Honey. Over the past 20 years he has been a columnist for the  Mail & Guardian, Noseweek, Sunday Times Day  and  Business Day.  He has published three novels –  The De Villiers Code,  an instant bestseller,  Texas  and  The Wading,  which was described by JM Coetzee as “refreshingly original in conception and assured in its prose style”. He has also written two non-fiction books,  The Unauthorised History of South Africa  and his latest,  Is It Me Or Is It Getting Hot In Here?  He wrote both series of the SAFTA-award winning  ‘Shoreline’  for SABC, as well as co-creating the SABC3 comedy  ‘Those Who Can’t’  with Alan Committee, and co-founded  Hayibo.com  back when fake news was still funny and not deciding elections.
